Telecom Standardisation Architect

 

The Telecom Standardisation Architect will be part of the global MATRIXX product management organization and will interface withother members of the Product Management and engineering organizations.  You should have solid working experience, be able to provide information about past work experience and references.  The role is ideal for someone who is excited about working in a fast-paced start-up environment that is both dynamic yet flexible. 

 

The Telecom Standardisation Architect will represent MATRIXX in the standardization meetings around the world and actively contribute/influence the standards in key areas.  They will continuously provide product development guidance to the product management team and be required to assist sales for technical insight into specific areas (e.g. RFx assistance and customer meetings/presentations). The role provides a critical interface for MATRIXX into the global standardisation effort for 5G and related technologies. The person must understand the MATRIXX product capabilities together with the higher-level business requirements of the market that we serve in order to contribute effectively in suggesting feature capabilities to be incorporated into the product roadmap.

 

This is an individual contributor role with very high visibility and importance in the company. The person may also work closely with the customers to understand the emerging technologies, standards and business use cases, analyse potential product gaps, gather the technical requirements and document them for roadmap evaluation. The person will assist in managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing requirements, defining technical solution blueprints for deployment,working closely with product managers, engineering, clients, and field organizations to deliver a superior end-to-end digital experience solution.  The role requires presenting the standards related vision and concrete ideas to other stakeholders; defending and adapting the positioning as necessary based on all party’s feedback.

 

The ideal candidate will display the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs, priorities, and timelines. Past experience working on Telco BSS and/or OSS applications is mandatory.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage ETSI/3GPP, GSMA, TMF and other related bodies standards/meetings contributions
  • Work with PLM in order to prioritise standardisation activities
  • Negotiate and communicate within standards working group and plenaries to ensure key standards are aligned with MATRIXX product roadmap and vision
  • Create user stories and use cases based on standards developments
  • Ensure the right blend of trade-offs to maximize the product impact in the marketplace
  • Work with product marketing and sales to create product positioning, content, collateral and tools

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 10 years in the role of hands-on Product Management or Systems and solution architect in the telco BSS or network areas
  • Minimum 10 years experience in ETSI/3GPP standardisation (SA2 or/and SA5) with active frequent participation in meetings and evidence of contribution to 5G standards (5GC or/and charging/policy)
  • Experience in a customer-facing role
  • Previous software development or/and systems architect experience experience
  • Deep domain knowledge in EPC, 5GC, policy, charging, MANO
  • Expertise in PCC architecture including OCS/CHF, PCRF/PCF, PCEF/SMF and TDF/DPI platforms with regard to network integration and configuring to provide an end business service
  • Commercial and technical awareness of the OCS and PCRF market place
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
  • Experience working with remote and highly distributed teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
