SENIOR TECHNICAL WRITER – SARATOGA, CALIFORNIA

MATRIXX is looking for a Senior Technical Writer. You will help document a state-of-the-art digital commerce platform by working in multiple cross-functional areas to deliver documentation on a variety of technologies, for a variety of audiences. Independence, and strong communication and project management skills are a must. We’re looking for the right mix of technical knowledge and writing skill that make you a good match for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Researching, designing, and documenting new features on a wide variety of technical topics, mainly for technical audiences.
  • Gathering information from technical specifications and by interviewing subject matter experts.
  • Using that information to produce end-user documentation. That documentation could include online help systems, API documentation, administration guides, developer guides, best-practice guides, or other information-based solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years’ experience producing technical documents for software development.
  • Experience defining documentation requirements and scheduling deliverables.
  • Familiarity with basic LINUX utilities and commands.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability and desire to work hands-on with the software being documented.
  • Appreciation for being part of a fast-paced startup environment.
  • BA or BS in English, Journalism, Technical Writing or related field or equivalent practical experience.
