FP&A Director

 

Working out of our Saratoga, CA (HQ), this person will be the first hire for the FP&A function and will lead the development and growth of the FP&A function from the ground up as the Company marches towards an IPO. This is a critical role supporting the global organization. You will partner with the CFO but will also interact regularly with senior management and executive leadership including the CEO.  Your experience in budgeting, forecasting and complex financial analysis skills will deliver insights and recommendations to help senior management with strategic decision making.

 

The role is responsible for all areas of financial planning & analysis, which includes developing financial and business plans, partnering with functional leaders, and driving analyses for key business issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Senior Management and business units to determine strategic goals and objectives
  • Direct the overall process for the bottoms-up development of the rolling budget, resource planning analysis, and periodic forecast updates
  • Exhibit a balance of controls, strategy, planning and metric management.
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
  • Provide senior management with insightful decision support and drive executive level ad hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Enhance and/or define reporting requirements to support the business and operations
  • Oversee analysis for strategic decisions with regards to new business models, strategic partnership agreements, etc.
  • Drive the preparation of business analyses, trending analysis, and other ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Lead the assessment and implementation of new BI tools including budgeting and forecasting software
  • Develop presentations and materials for the Board, Investors and other relevant 3rd parties.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

 

  • 10+ year of experience as Manager or Director of Finance
  • Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • Deep strategic FP&A experience at a large company or start-up; sophisticated financial modeling experience that includes the ability to build detailed, operating models from scratch
  • Strong leadership skills required. Experience with globally distributed employees and customers preferred
  • Track record of leading and collaborating cross-functionally to gain buy-in, support, and assistance from key stakeholders
  • “Hands-on” enough to drive financial planning & analysis yourself, but “strategic” enough to have Board-level conversations
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
