Risk and Compliance Associate

As we further our mission to democratize data-driven medicine worldwide, we are looking for a Risk and Compliance Associate to join our growing Legal & Compliance team. You will manage our Enterprise Risk Management program, perform risk assessments, support the development of internal control framework and maintain business continuity plans. You will also support management and implementation of compliance programs and assist in the development of trainings.
 
This role requires experience in enterprise risk management, compliance and internal controls applied to healthcare, software development, biotech, pharma or other highly regulated industries.
 
As our Risk and Compliance Associate you will:
 
Risk Management
 
Manage and develop SOPHiA’s Enterprise Risk Management program
Perform risk assessments and evaluations, manage and maintain score cards, implement and follow-up mitigation measures, prepare periodical reporting to Risk & Compliance Committee. Develop and present insights and recommendations to Senior Management and Executive stakeholders.
Work with the Finance team on risk management issues to develop and maintain the company’s internal control framework
Develop and maintain business continuity plans
Ensure appropriate insurance coverage in accordance with risk profile. Assist in the management of company insurance policies
 
Compliance
 
Support management and implementation of compliance program (especially on ABAC, AML-CFT, Economic Sanctions & Embargoes)
Design policies and procedures related to risk management, internal controls, compliance, corporate governance and insurance
Assist in the development of governance, risk, compliance and assurance trainings and workshops
 
Requirements
 
3 to 5 years of consulting experience in a consulting firm / Big4
Masters’ degree in finance, business administration, compliance, law
CIA, CFE, Risk Management and/or Compliance certificate desired
Proven experience working in risk management, compliance and internal control consulting projects
Demonstrated experience in reviewing, designing and implementing governance, risk and compliance frameworks
Experience in healthcare, software development, biotech, pharma or other highly regulated industries (preferable)
Curiosity to learn and proactivity to bring forward ideas
Experience working under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to make the complex simple
Planning and organizational skills
Socially minded team player with a positive mindset.
Fluent in English, preferably French and any other language
