We are currently seeking an IT Systems Engineer to support the IT team in providing excellent IT services for our employees.

As an IT Systems Engineer, you are responsible for Scandit’s internal IT infrastructure, which includes employee laptops, productivity tools (mostly cloud-based, such as Google Workspace), networks and VPN, instant messaging, video conferencing as well as VoIP. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the IT in a successful tech scaleup, play an important part in our monthly onboarding process of international new joiners and support distributed teams by providing reliable and state-of-the-art IT services.

What You Will Do

  • Evaluate, plan and implement internal IT projects (SSO, identity management, VOIP, backup solutions, IDS/IPS, user portal for IT education and IT resources, etc.)
  • Manage and evolve the communication, collaboration and productivity tools that we use as a team (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Office 365, Miro, etc.)
  • Ensure user education with high-quality documentation, how-tos, processes and policies  
  • Create and refine both existing and new IT processes and workflows
  • Introduce automation and tooling for tasks in the IT team and the wider business needs
  • Manage and monitor our internal IT network (firewall, switches, access points, etc.)
  • Help develop, improve and enforce our information security program
  • Help taking care of our service desk by providing desktop, application and network support to both our local and remote users together with the rest of the IT team
  • Enable new hires to achieve a perfect start with a structured IT onboarding and a high-touch onboarding experience
  • Process IT related orders (hardware and software) and manage the IT inventory
  • Maintain and troubleshoot on-premise infrastructure such as WiFi, wired network, printers and scanners
  • Coordinate and process IT related orders (hardware and software) with external suppliers and manage the IT inventory
  • Keep track of IT-related issues and document their solutions for future reference

 

Who You Are

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field 
  • Proven experience of at least 3-5 years in a similar position
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex problems and find a systematic approach to gain a quick but long lasting resolution
  • Broad knowledge of operating systems, particularly macOS, Windows and basic Linux knowledge
  • Highly knowledgeable in the administration of Google Workspace or a similar environment
  • Experience in using communication tools like Slack and Zoom
  • Profound knowledge of networking (AD, DHCP, DNS, VPN, etc.) 
  • Strong sense of security (secure system setup, securing the network, educating employees on security best practices, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and be able to face hectic situations calmly and confidence
  • Ability to break down complex technical circumstances in a comprehensible manner for less technical minded people
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), the language we normally use
  • You must be eligible to work in Switzerland
