Our mobile robot ANYmal uses legs for extreme mobility in complex environments, camera- and LIDAR-based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance, and AI for high-quality and consistent inspection results. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and all related ANYbotics electrical hardware.
 
We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team of developers and robot enthusiasts as soon as possible or depending on availability. We develop electrical systems and custom electronic solutions which enable our robot to reliably perform its inspection and maintenance tasks. The team members closely collaborate with specialists from the mechanical and software development groups in order to evaluate, implement, test and support the product development process. We are passionate about excellent hardware design and system performance at competitive product costs.

Your contributions

    • Design high-quality and reliable electronic solutions following a structured development process
    • Assemble and test electronic prototypes, specialized equipment and final robotic products
    • Incorporate best practices and guidelines from international standards into the electronics design processes
    • Introduce novel technologies and design approaches to the electrical engineering team
    • Work closely together with external electronics manufacturing partners to ensure high quality and manufacturability of custom electronic designs
    • Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplined team, including experts in the fields of mechanical and software engineering as well as supply chain management and production

Your profile

    • University degree in electrical engineering (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate)
    • 3+ years of industrial experience with a proven track record of successful development activities
    • Strong knowledge base regarding design of electronic systems and associated processes
    • Well acquainted with common PCB design software and experience with complex, multi-layered boards
    • Ability to troubleshoot complex and state-of-the-art electronic systems and solid hands-on problem solving skills
    • You have substantial experience in one of the following:
    • - Design of functional safety electronics according to international standards
    • - Selection and integration of radio-frequency equipment
    • - Design for electromagnetic compatibility and norm compliant electronics
    • - Design and testing techniques for long-term reliable electronics
    • Good command of spoken/written English
