The Junior Software Development Engineer will provide backup support to the Software Developers on the Legacy Team, focusing principally on the design, programming, development, testing and integration of our existing software solutions.

 

 

As a Junior Software Development Engineer at the Medimaps Group SA, you will:

 

  • Help contribute to the development of solutions to ensure legacy compatibility
  • Help contribute to the development of state-of-the-art software medical devices using software applications such as graphical user interface, image handling and manipulation, software communication with security features, database architecture and protection mechanisms.
  • assist in the design and development of software applications, modules, libraries, or tools for the products portfolio or the R&D activities based upon Microsoft Windows technologies (C#, .Net) in and for Microsoft Windows environments
  • Help define the future new generation of products
  • Ensure best development practice to develop modular, flexible and powerful new software as Medical Device
  • Support continuous unit tests development for reliable code
  • Ensure good source code quality, versioning, control, and management.
  • Participate in technology survey relative to programming software for multiservice, efficient systems communication, SaaS and cloud architecture and models
  • Help contribute to increasing the reliability, efficiency and modularity of our medical device software products
  • Assist in the development of database solutions
  • Contribute to the implementation of data protection solutions
  • In collaboration with the Software Development team, support the evolution of the existing software system applications and architecture
  • Assist in the development of medical device software in compliance with quality standards
  • Develop excellent documentation practice with efficient and practical ways from design, technical conception, development, to the overall description of the new products (software, application, module).

 

 

The position will be based in our offices at Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva and may require some occasional travel to our offices in France and/or US.

 

 

 

Profile Required:

  • A master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a bachelor’s degree with several years developer experience in lieu of a Masters.
  • Strong hands on experience in C# programming
  • Minimum of 1 years experience as a Software Developer, ideally within the Biotech / MedTech field but not obligatory
  • Experienced and skilled user of Visual Studio, WPF, Winform, ASP.net, Net, Windows technologies, git or SVN, Javascript, jQuery, ORM (Entity Framework or NHibernate)
  • Knowledge and skilled in DICOM, HL7 a plus but not essential
  • Good working level of English essential. Good working level of French very desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and capable of working proactively and collaboratively within the team and across the organisation.
