Director of Sales

Labster is changing the way students learn science, with over 5 million users in over 60 countries. Our sales team drives this mission forward by bringing our science education software platform to decision makers at college and university clients every day. We are a fast paced, rapidly growing team made up of 10 Sales Executives in the Higher Education market. We value being a great team, achieving the extraordinary, and helping as many students as possible. Higher Education is where we started and is currently our largest revenue generating market. This is a huge opportunity to come in as the Director of Sales and lead and inspire a motivated sales team, establish sustainable growth and take this market to the next level following our Series C round of funding with world class investment from a16z, Owl Ventures, Sofina and many others.

What you’ll be doing:


  • Coaching, mentoring, motivating a driven sales team focused on new business, and in doing so generating revenue opportunities for the sales organization

  • Leading the recruitment, staffing and training to grow and maintain a sales team

  • Formulating and executing on monthly and quarterly sales plans

  • Assisting sales team with client meetings, presentations and negotiations

  • Inspiring, leading and coaching a dynamic and fast paced sales team

  • Coaching and providing feedback to the sales team in the areas of sales/personal development, direction and focus

  • Conducting weekly forecast review and quarterly progress review sessions with each representative

  • Managing productivity, funnel of opportunities and quality to ensure teams meet established goals and standards

  • Implementing ongoing process improvements that will make our team more efficient

  • Assisting in managing events, call blitzes, campaigns, to achieve target goals for team and individual sales executives

  • Collaborating with other circles (Product, CS, Finance) to ensure maximum sales effectiveness and coordinate on processes

  • Identifying emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status


If you’ve got these skills, we’d love to hear from you

  • Excellent communications and leadership skills

  • 5+ years of successful sales management experience in a SaaS environment

  • Proven experience as a sales/account executive, consistently meeting or exceeding targets

  • Customer Focused – personally demonstrated that both external and internal customers are a high priority by identifying, and responding to their needs in a timely and efficient manner

  • Initiative – Recognizes opportunities and initiates to capitalize on them by looking for a new and productive ways to make an impact

  • Results-oriented with strong analytical skills

  • Deep understanding of CRM systems and best practices. We use Salesforce!

  • Must be a team player

  • Experience in EdTech preferred, but not required
