Who are they?

Actility is the international industry leader in the Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure with ThingPark®, the new generation standard-based IoT communication platform. Actility’s ThingPark network solutions provide long-range coverage for low-power sensors used in Smart Home, Smart City, Smart Building and Smart Factory applications. With the ThingPark Wireless Public and ThingPark Enterprise Private Network Servers, Actility connects sensors to a wide range of applications and tracking devices from its subsidiary Abeeway using Actility’s Location services.

For its international expansion, Actility is looking for energetic, motivated and tenacious International Sales Managers to join our international sales team and to contribute to the further growth of our company. We have several open positions for cover regions such as Germany.

Job description

You have experience selling Software with at least 2-5 years’ experience selling to large-sized enterprises. You have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering. You have a commercial mindset and are capable of selling. You have strong communication skills (spoken, listener and written) across all organizational levels, internally and externally.

The perfect candidate should have a technical background in IT or telecommunications. Candidates must be fluent in English and fluent in German.

The position is a CDI permanent contract, based in Actility office HQ in Paris. You will report to the EMEAI EVP Sales.

Main responsibilities

Development of IoT markets in Germany.

As Sales Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Create target prospect lists by a deep online prospecting and penetrate key accounts.
  • Prospecting and following up on potential leads.
  • Follow-up on inbound marketing leads and identify qualified opportunities providing appropriate levels of information at the right time for interested prospects.
  • Working to identify, develop and close new business opportunities as well as maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Developing and closing sales opportunities with medium to large-sized enterprises. Create quotes for prospects and channel partners when required.
  • Ongoing communication with customers, prospects and partners.
  • Identify the needs of the prospect/customer and provide detailed information to the prospect/customer about the technical specifications of the solutions offered by the company.
  • Structure sales pitches, and presentations.
  • Travel to areas where needs are projected.
  • Stay abreast of market trends.
  • Demonstrate product features before sales.
  • Respond to pre-qualification questionnaires and tenders.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Ensure successful follow through of sales cycle by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in CRM application.

Preferred experience

Required Skills

  • Profound interest and knowledge of the Internet of Things (IoT)
  • You have experience selling multi-technology IoT platforms, software, hardware, solutions, of with at least 2-5 years’ experience selling to medium to large-sized enterprises.
  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree or more, preferably in Engineering. You have a commercial mindset and are capable of selling.
  • You are capable of managing pilot projects in collaboration with our customers.
  • Knowledge of German Market.
  • You have strong communication skills (spoken and written) across all organizational levels, internally and externally.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to work independently with little direction.
  • English is a prerequisite.
  • For Germany position, fluency in German is a prerequisite.
