VP Sales, North America

The VP Sales North America reports to the Global Head of Sales. This role manages three Regional Sales Managers with their teams of Sales & Business Development Managers, and the SME Manager with her team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), focusing on the sales of all SOPHiA GENETICS products to hospitals and private labs. The VP Sales North America participates to the elaboration of the sales strategy for USA and Canada and executes it to achieve or exceed the company market penetration objectives and revenue targets. He/she provides managerial leadership and sales expertise to the Sales teams so that they perform on or above expectations. He/She is capable of addressing the technical and clinical ecosystem of genomic and multimodal lab testing.Key Responsibilities    Builds sales plans, assigns territories and sales goals for USA/Canada region    Develops strategies to obtain sales leads and prospects for maximal market penetration, and sell new and existing “products” to customers and prospects    Reviews progress of sales opportunities (opportunity pipeline)    Constantly monitors routine usage by customers and takes action when needed    Monitors the achievement of sales and revenue objectives by Regional Sales Manager    Reports sales activity and progress in the region and provides sales projections to Global Head of Sales and General Manager (selected opportunities, back fillers, etc...)    Provides feedback, support and coaching to Regional Sales Managers and SME Manager    Regularly travels to meet key prospects and customers and ensure there is high customer satisfaction in the region    Directly manages a carefully selected list of Strategic Accounts (customers and prospects) and institutional actors (consortiums, hospital groups, insurances, pharmas)    Enforces all sales policies, practices and procedures    Ensures Regional Sales Managers and SME Manager have the necessary resources to perform properly    Through regular assessment in coordination with the Regional Sales Managers and SME Manager, assigns trainings necessary to continuously grow the teams expertise    Involved in the hiring and dismissal process to create the most performing team    Evaluates performance of sales staff in region on a quarterly basisRequirements    Proven experience as a VP Sales or similar leadership role    Minimum of 5-10 years Sales experience (preferably Consultative Sales) in Life Science, Diagnostic or Medtech industry    Network of trusted contacts in the Hospital and private NGS lab space    Excellent communication skills    Extensive experience in People Management    Good Leadership skills    Strategic thinking    Strong customer Focus    Master Degree in Computing, Life Science or a related fieldBenefits    A flexible, friendly and international working environment with a collaborative atmosphere    An exciting company mission that brings together science and technology to directly impact the lives of patients with life threatening illness.    A fast-growing company with plenty of opportunity for personal growth and development    A hard technical challenge to solve with exciting modern technology - cloud computing, Big Data, DevOps, machine learning Location: BOSTON OR HOME OFFICE (Massachusetts and the surrounding states, 2-3h from Boston)Start: ASAP (or as agreed)Contract type: permanent full-time
