Database administrator

GEOSATIS is a dynamic company with offices in Switzerland, United States and Brazil. You will be joining an innovative team of international highly skilled and experienced engineers.

We are looking for a Database administrator to join our R&D department. As a member of the Software Engineering team in Madrid, you would have the responsibility for databases’ design, maintenance, performance, integrity and security.

• Take part in the decision-making process for technical choices
• Performances monitoring and fine-tuning the DB
• Refine design to meet DB requirements
• Prepare for and maintain standards (i.e. GDPR)
• Control access permissions and privileges
• Work closely with the development teams
• Make DB architectural choices
• Lead the data management transformation

• At least 5 years of experience in database administration
• Strong experience in PostgreSQL database
• Advanced knowledge in SQL with experience in optimizing SQL queries
• Experience with PostGIS is an asset
• Experience with hibernate (caching data, performance optimization) is an asset
• Team spirit
• Ability to work in fast-paced agile environment
• Well organized, able to produce clean, concise code and/or documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Professional written and verbal communication skills in English • French, Spanish or Portuguese are an asset
